A group of students from Owego Free Academy recently had the opportunity to travel with American Music Abroad Honor Band, Choirs, and Orchestras. The students were invited to attend the tour, with travel from July 3 to July 23.

The group began in East Stroudsburg University where they joined other members from across New York State and New Jersey. They rehearsed together for a couple days and put on a magnificent concert for families before heading to JFK to begin their journey.

They visited Zurich Switzerland, Germany, France, Czech Republic and Austria, and had the opportunity to tour castles, explore many small towns, visit a cemetery where many famous composers are buried, tour Vienna State Opera House, Prater Amusement Park, the Swiss Alps, a gondola trip to a glacier, visited a concentration camp, and learned about the cultures and food along the way.

Participating from Owego were Derek Sarrge, Larissa Fisher, JJ Bowgren, Rachel Raftis, Austin Snyder, and Mariah Hogg.
