Everybody loves a carnival, and guests attending the Tioga County Fair will once again enjoy the all-inclusive admission of $10 that will gain entry to the fair, access to all the rides, and seating for the grandstand shows, including Tuesday’s Rodeo!

By visiting www.tiogacofair.com, or in the Tioga County Fair guide as an insert to this week’s Pennysaver, guests will find a complete schedule of activities and events, and highlights of the attractions and shows taking place throughout fair week.

The Tioga County Fair Board has been working hard since the end of last year’s fair to bring everything back around; this year offering a new attraction that is quickly becoming a “must see” event – Tuesday night’s Painted Pony Championship Rodeo.

With all the thrills and action expected from a sanctioned rodeo event, the show features some well known’s in the rodeo circuit like Will Loomis, from Statesville, North Carolina. Loomis is currently ranked number eight in the world standings, and will be in Owego, N.Y. competing in bull riding on Tuesday. The show begins at 7 p.m.

Also at the rodeo will be three Rodeo Queens – Miss New York Rodeo Teen, Emma Smith; Little Miss New York Rodeo Queen, Makenzie Rae; and Miss New York Rodeo Queen, Noel White. The three will be on hand signing autographs and meeting rodeo fans at the Painted Pony Championship Rodeo at the Tioga County Fair on Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, the Dash for Cash competition will hold preliminaries at 2 p.m. The finals for the Dash for Cash will take place during the rodeo. 

The fair officially begins on Aug. 5 with sire stakes taking place on the track at noon. Admission is free on Monday, but there will be no other grandstand shows and the rides will be closed. 

On Tuesday, a full schedule of activities begins, and rides open at 5 p.m.; the rides open at 2 p.m. each day beginning on Wednesday except for Saturday, when they start up at noon.

Three nights of the demolition derby will also thrill guests this year. You can catch the action on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday night beginning at 7 p.m. Guests will also enjoy the new and expanded grandstand seating on the track.

Don’t forget to visit 4-H at the fair as well. The 4-H events begin with the dairy show, starting at 9 a.m. on Aug. 6, and continue throughout the week.
