When is the village going to patch the shortcut from North Avenue to the Hyde Lot? The holes are 6-inches deep and the Hyde Parking Lot is much worse. We better use the $10 million to fix all the bad things with the village instead of adding new stuff. Forget the new; fix the infrastructure!

I appreciate the various color guards that take the time and make the effort to march in our parades, but PLEASE stop dipping the U.S. flag. It is to be carried upright and NEVER dipped.

This is more of my just wondering. Yesterday I stopped at the farmer’s market, a lady stepped up and obviously didn’t have much of anything, and said to the worker at the Green Acre’s stand “how many strawberries can I get for a dollar?” He never said a word, he handed her a basket that was about three quarters full and just told her to walk away. She said that was my last dollar, I thought this guy should be publicly thanked for that. So last night I was walking into one of the local pizza establishments and there was a member of the school board walking out with pizzas. I thought, huh, just wondering if that was his last $50 he spent in there. Again, just wondering.

So here it is, the 4th of July celebration in Candor, and my family and friends are sitting in the shade on the state highway waiting for the parade. A homeowner comes out and tells us that we can’t sit there because they own that property and told us to move. Can somebody tell me the results of that? That is ridiculous! They do not own the highway and I feel people can sit there and watch the parade if they’d like.

It is surprising that Senator Akshar made the calls and that postcards were sent out for an incumbent town board member before the republican primary. This used to be against the rules for republican primaries. The incumbent must be pretty bad.

To scare deer off your property you can scatter mothballs near where they eat. If that doesn’t work, mix one tablespoon of cayenne pepper, 3 tablespoons of kelp, 3 tablespoons of liquid hand soap, 1/2 teaspoon of oil of peppermint, 1 pint of warm water in a bowl. Place the mixture in a spray bottle and spray where the deer frequent. Another mixture is one tablespoon of dried blood, which you get at a garden supply house, 4 cloves of powdered garlic, and 2 gallons of cool tap water. Put that in a bucket as well and put in a sprayer. Use it sparingly as it can burn your plants. I hope one of these can help you.

Over the 4th of July weekend I had the opportunity to visit the Marvin Park pool and park. I need to say the bathrooms need to be remodeled. It is a shame. The plumbing wasn’t working, none of the toilets were working and things were just so old and cracked. I think we need to take a little bit of that money the village is getting and pour it into those bathrooms.

Maybe one of your readers will know why the Amish people who moved up in this area from Pennsylvania are not required to pay any school taxes. Yet a single person, who never married or had any kids, has to pay his fair share of school taxes every year. It doesn’t seem fair.

This is for Mr. Castellucci, elected official. He thinks the voters work for him. I don’t think that’s right but as long as he thinks so he’s got a big learning coming. If the voters can’t disagree with him it’s time for him to go.

It was clear to me why the Elvis comment wasn’t printed. It makes no sense.

Mr. Castellucci, do you remember when you and Mr. Schumacher shot down everything Carol Sweeney wanted to do? Well, I guess it comes back to bite you sometimes doesn’t it.

The Village of Owego fiscal year will end here in about two weeks, or the first of August. Will there be, at the next board meeting, a financial report from the financial commissioner on the year end where we are, what we end up at and if we have any pluses or deficits, or just exactly what the status is of this year ending budget? I look forward to seeing that.

Hey, here’s an idea to pass by. In South Waverly/Sayre area we have an empty Tops building with loads of parking, we have an empty Kmart building with loads of parking. Why in heaven’s name can’t we get an IHOP or a Country Cupboard or something like that? We have lots of Italian; we have lots of other restaurants and bars, why can’t we somehow entice those companies to come to this area? Just an idea, wouldn’t an IHOP taste so good some day?

Where are all the butterflies? I have not seen one monarch or swallowtail this year. I have a yard full of flowers to attract them to. Has anyone else noticed this?

Why is Trump having a hissy with China? Tricky Dick cracked the door open, the Great Communicator threw it wide open and invited them in. When the Great Communicator was in charge, our manufacturers moved to China and built new factories. So, why is Trump having a “problem”? When Trump was on TV with XI and giving away more green cards for students, whose allegiance is to who, did XI look like the cat that swallowed the canary?

The Census is an original constitutional requirement. When the Founding Fathers wrote the constitution the census was to count the number of Americans. Law requires your response to the Census. It is not required by law for Native Americans to comply with the Census per their unique status, thus again clarifying that the Census is for American citizens. Obama quietly removed the citizenship question from the 2010 census. President Trump tried to put the question of citizenship back in. A liberal lower court blocked this. The Census will ask both race and ethnicity. My race and ethnicity are nobody’s business because I choose it to be so. If New York and California can nullify Federal Law, then I too can nullify Federal and New York law. If the Census does not contain the question of citizenship then I will return to sender or dump in the trash. So sue me. Cuomo’s issuance of drivers’ licenses to illegal aliens is just another scam to nullify your vote. There will be more votes in New York State than number of legally entitled voters and no one will be able to sort it out. This is to guarantee he and people of his ilk with always have the power in the Banana Republic of New York.

Remember Trump’s criticism of Obama golfing? The cost of Trump’s golfing is now $108 million. Big spender Trump, disregarding the national debt, only adds to his dishonesty. Trump should have been impeached a long time ago.

Ask Bernie, AOC, and Pocahontas which three people of the 20th century had the greatest impact on humanity. They will not answer. They are socialists Hitler, Mao Zedong, and Stalin. The question is which had the highest body count. Socialism is always one bullet away from perfection. Maybe our new Socialists can do it right this time? America’s first form of independent government was Socialist. This is what the Pilgrims instituted on arrival in 1620. During their first winter, half died of starvation. Beginning spring of 1621 the Pilgrims were rabid Capitalists.

Saying President Trump is un-presidential is like saying General Patton wasn’t officer-like. Who seriously worries about whether or not Trump is guilty of social faux pas? When the hypocritical politicos are not backstabbing each other, these hypocrites who throw their stones in glass houses project false offense of their delicate sensibilities. For every program POTUS campaigned on, action has been taken to secure National and International financial parity. The same as our Border Control; Internationally and Nationally. What has become a major, but denied, border control crisis continues because the hypocritical opposition continues to deny a crisis exists and refuses to put any legislation on the floor to remedy it. They do however take a public stance of No Borders Country, Free Health and Financial Support, Legal Licenses and Right to Work with or without documentation of citizenship or residency and Zero accountability to Federal Authorities. Rather than work for it legislatively, they have chosen to sling mud at our President and now each other. If this is now, what will the hypocrite party be advocating for if elected. They talk the talk, but fail to walk the walk. What they do very well is absolve themselves and point fingers with “If only you”.

Ya gotta laugh. The Socialist Democrat presidential candidates appear to have a “flapping disease”. Just watch any of these wing nuts, when they start talking, they start flapping their arms. When they start flapping the hardest is when they come up with an even wackier idea than the previous one, or they are lying, or both. Don’t believe me, just watch Beto or AOC or any of them and you’ll see what I mean.

The U.S. and its one size fits all government isn’t going to happen. The more Washington D.C. threatens and demands economic sanctions and alleged action without proof, the more these countries are determined not to change. The changes the U.S. wants have to happen from inside the country with the support of the majority, which has already failed with the U.S.-backed President. Stop meddling in the affairs of sovereign countries, the U.S. wasted 40 million trying to blame the results of the 2016 election on Russian meddling, which has been proven to be untrue by the U.S. Courts; so stop doing it to other countries and take care of the problems at home.

Why doesn’t the media understand that A.O.C. and the rest of the nut jobs in the House just really want publicity. If the media ignored them, they’d gradually go away, and they and their idiot blather certainly wouldn’t be missed!

“I have never seen such hatred directed towards a president as is now being directed toward President Trump! Nothing even comes close! What is wrong with you Democrats?” The dumbest person to ever run a country and you wonder about the hatred for this President? When are you going to wake up and see how you’ve and all of us have been screwed over by this want to be dictator? He has tripled the national debt, and he has sold us out to Russia, China, and possibly North Korea. He has put children in his concentration camps, and he has abused women; I could go on and on but you Republicans just turn your heads and look the other way.

Thanks to fracking, the United States is coming on fast to become one of the world’s largest oil and gas producers with reserves and exports outstripping Russia and Saudi Arabia. Unemployment is historically low among all groups. President Trump is doing for the country what Governor Cuomo has failed to do for New York State. Can it be that the Democrats’ many hard lined and moral hypocritical ideologies have been the creation of the far left socialist agenda? What will it take to turn all of New York into a competitive place where people want to work to live comfortably instead of exist adequately?

There’s got to be something we can do about these immigrants coming into our country. Get Mexico to take care of their own, not us; or put up the wall and be done with it. We have our own people starving, doing drugs, and committing crimes that are just to buy drugs. Just open our eyes and see. Our country is how many trillion dollars in debt? I don’t mean treat the immigrants badly or inhumane, they’re human beings too. That’s totally wrong. The other countries like China and Russia are just sitting back laughing at us. Think about it.

Oh, what happened to beautiful San Francisco? I am so happy I visited there 30 years ago when it was a beautiful city but now that the democrats have taken over it’s a mess. The homelessness is out of control, there are messy streets, and people are leaving in droves. You see what happens when democrats run the area. Vote them all out. Vote Republican.

Thank you President Trump for your great July 4th Salute to America. It’s about time a president is once again proud to be an American and about time many citizens are too. Too bad the sourpuss democrats want to rain on our parade. They are the true losers.

So now we have a democratic congresswoman who is going down into Mexico and she’s helping to coach the migrants there on how to come back into our wonderful country. She’s teaching them the loopholes. Now do you believe this? These are people elected to work for the American people, to work for the safety of the American people. She had better be defeated and soon. The democrats are nothing but crazy nut bags.

This message is for everyone out there who is so worried and complaining because Trump did an Independence Day salute and honored our veterans and our troops, but I never heard a word when we were going through the Mueller dossier except to hear more fake news from CNN, NBC and the democrats. As far as AOC, why is Nancy not correcting her? Is Nancy Pelosi afraid of her? I think there should be a lot less haters because Trump is doing one heck of a job and I hope more republicans see it because the last thing we need in office is another democrat.

Some genius called in and supported giving everyone on Social Security $2,000. Her rationale was President Trump offered $50 billion to the Palestinians, which by the way I do not support. However there are 62 billion people on Social Security, and that would require $124 billion. This person needs to take a course in basic arithmetic.

I love Sarah Sanders, I’m sorry to see her go. She was very effective when handling those fake news reporters. She has moved on to the governor’s mansion in Arkansas. Very fortunate for the Arkansas residents, I only wish she had run for governor in New York.

I vote New York City split, Upstate would still be better off. Cuomo is to blame for New York’s mess. He’s been governor for way too long and he’s done absolutely nothing to help New Yorkers. The only thing he’s good at is giving himself a raise. He is now the highest paid governor in the nation. Unbelievable to be paid that kind of money to do nothing. I always vote Republican and always will. I’m not a democrat, and Trump will have a landslide win in 2020 then hopefully Donald Jr. or daughter Ivanka in 2024. Can’t wait; then watch those democrats react.

All the problems we have in our country today got me to thinking. Whenever there’s a mass shooting they cry more gun laws. We don’t need more gun laws. We need to turn back to God and morals. That will set us back on the right path if we do.

It’s rather sad that the British Ambassador had to resign because of Trump. Everything the ambassador said about Trump was so true. Everyone who comes in contact with Trump has to lie or they lose their job.
