Thank you Kirby Band for a delightful concert in the park.

GOOD SAMARITANS DO EXIST! Huge thanks to the couple and their son that stopped on their way to Candor’s Fourth of July parade to help my 95 year old father who had fallen in his driveway. These kind people also stopped to check on him after the parade and the son a member of “Ladies from Hell” gave him a Bagpipe concert in his backyard, which he greatly enjoyed. Once again many thanks!

~

Please be reminded that it is greatly appreciated when ONLY the items listed on the shed at St. Margaret Mary Church are donated, the donations are in bags, and the bags are tied. Thanks so much for your continuing and generous support!

Before you rush off to demand New York be split do a bit of analysis. You’ll find that New York City and environs pay a lot more into the state coffers than they get back. Upstate gets a lot more back than it pays in. So if you want to commit financial suicide go ahead and press for a split. After that remember that the New York Legislature was split between Democrats and Republicans for many years so you can’t blame everything on Cuomo and/or the Democrats. Reality is what it is.

Am I disturbed that the school ran out of ballots? No. Do I think a ballot made on a copier is somehow deficient? No. Am I upset that they didn’t scan them? No. Scanning wouldn’t work because of the nature of the scanning system. Why would someone think they would not get counted correctly? The ballots are there for all to see and remain available for any recount challenge. A miscount could be easily discovered. Am I paranoid? No.

~

From the description, I think the reader concerned about stop sign running meant the Erie and East Avenue intersection and not East Front, but the reader is correct. I use that intersection daily and the stop sign running is a real issue. AND – there are a lot of red light runners at the Front/East Front intersection too.

Due to the ‘dumbing down’ of education in this country, I’m betting the low information voter doesn’t know that green plants, including trees, absorb carbon dioxide and give off oxygen. Thus, an increase in carbon dioxide stimulates plant growth and works to increase the oxygen supply. Notice the mainstream media makes no attempt at making this fact known. Wonder why?

~

Doesn’t it make you wonder, after all these years and I mean years, that now we have to have more safety at the ballparks and there are less crowds! The people just do not know how to handle their kids or they wouldn’t be in the predicament they are. There’s no reason at all that those ball players had to be penalized because people just cannot take care of their own kids.

~

I wish the cops would come up to Mount Pleasant Road in Nichols and see how these kids are driving 70, 80 mph by here and there are kids up the road here with school out. It goes on all day long and it’s worse on weekends.

~

I was wondering why the school board vote couldn’t be done at a neutral site instead of the school. After watching the school put on a concert and give away free hot dogs and ice cream, and all the things they did to promote their budget. Wouldn’t it only be right we do that in a neutral place like the Methodist Church or somewhere like that? One of those places where it is a neutral deal?

This is for the person who didn’t see what the big problem was about the measles. Well according to the C.D.C., before the vaccine became available, three to four million people got the measles every year in the United States; 400 to 500 of them died, 48,000 were hospitalized and 1,000 suffered swelling of the brain from measles every year. That’s the big deal!

~

Twice now I’ve call in the following statement: Elvis, America’s number one export. They have yet to print it. Why is that being censored? When you print all that other six page garbage, listen, redeem yourself, print “Elvis, America’s number one export” and all will be fine.

~

I was just wondering if anybody else is getting tired of the motorcycles going up and down Main Street here in Apalachin? It’s like we are at the Champion Speedway. Why aren’t the cops doing anything? I just don’t understand.

~

I have to say that I was quite disappointed that the National Anthem and/or Pledge of Allegiance was not done for the graduation ceremony at Candor Central School last Friday evening.

~

To my neighbors in Apalachin, as you continue to let your dog poop in my yard, when I find out where they live you will find a pile of it on your doorstep.

Weather includes past, present, and future atmospheric conditions. Included but not limited to are temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, precipitation, windstorms and other unique situations; the time framework, milliseconds to decades and beyond. Climate includes the same factors in summary form for much longer periods of time, centuries, millennia and longer. We need to establish a commonly acceptable basis for time. Climatic considerations include location, topographic features, landforms; bodies of water, elevation and other individual specifics have effects. Geographic location, longitude and latitude are significant; and then greenhouse gases and emissions. Lets do it.

National Political Viewpoints

“The real you is not a body. Your body is merely a suit of clothes. Physical birth was not your beginning and physical death is not your end.” — Presidential Candidate Marianne Williamson.

~

Conservative analyst and former White House adviser Peter Wehner writes in the New York Times, “In their ferocious defense of the president, Trump supporters are signaling that decency is a form of weakness, that cruelty is a welcome and highly effective political weapon and that the low road is the preferred road. At one point, Republicans were willing to tolerate Mr. Trump’s brutish tactics and reprehensible character as the price of party loyalty; today many of them seem to relish it. They see the dehumanization of others as a form of entertainment.” “Is decency a weakness? Here’s what psychiatrist Carl Jung would say about the GOP’s embrace of the dark side.” — Michael Winship — Common Dreams — June 23, 2019.

A $100 million trip to the Far East gave the President a chance to meet with his best friends. For months he has been urging allies to boycott Chinese tech giant Huawei, but when China refused to re-open trade talks until this boycott was lifted, Trump caved. While claiming to be a tough negotiator he has given in every time he was confronted by an advisory. We can expect to see Kim Jong-un’s face on the dollar bill soon.

For all those people supporting the Democratic proposals for what they want to give away such as free college, free medical, free entry into the country, and hand out $1,000 dollars to everyone, just think about this. You say you want to have the corporations and “rich” people pay for these. Each day, Corporations employ hundreds of people whose job it is to figure out how they can get out of paying taxes. This means the burden keeps dropping to the middle class. All of the college students that will receive these free education benefits will at some point be employed, paying for the next group of free college students. That will be a shock to them. Corporations can deduct expenses such as telephones and operating expense. Look at your telephone and utility bills for all the extra taxes you pay. Allowing free entry into the country without looking at what people can bring to add to the country, places another tax burden on the middle class. Cities and towns will be stretched to provide services to house, train and feed the people. If you want to vote for the right people, get those running, both Republican and Democrat, to change the tax laws. To paraphrase the investment firm from old commercials, “make money the hard way, earn it”. Americans first.

~

It’s a real eye opener how Mr. Trump will cozy up to dictators, Kim Jong-un, Vladimir Putin, and the Saudi crown prince. Seems so anxious to want to fit in, smothers them with compliments and hands on jesters. Mr. Trump is so thin skinned he will grasp at every crumb the dictators toss him. He’s being played like a fiddle and certainly would fold like a cheap tent should they dismiss him. It would be so refreshing if he would treat the American institution with respect. Listen to cabinet staff, respect the FBI, and work with the justice department instead of blocking requests and shunning them. Mr. Trump is truly shameful.

~

I have never seen such hatred directed towards a president as is now being directed toward President Trump! Nothing even comes close! What is wrong with you Democrats? It is okay to shut Conservative speech down, lie, beat us up (ANTIFA), anything goes, because we don’t just disagree with you, we are evil. If you were rational, you would see you are the real haters! You want to silence the 1/3 of Americans that disagree with you. MAKE AMERICA NOT HATE AGAIN! ROAR!

~

What a hoot. Crazy Bernie blathers income equality and socialism ad nauseam, but how does HE actually act? First of all, he took first class air accommodations to get to the debate, and then stayed in luxury accommodations AT the debate. Are YOU able to duplicate that? This, from someone who did not actually have a job for much of his adult life. Don’t believe it, Google it yourself.

~

You have got to be kidding me! We pay into Medicare for decades in order to get medical coverage in our senior years, as does everyone. The Socialist Democrats are even suggesting ILLEGAL ALIENS tap into that fund, having never contributed one red cent? That does in their chance of even coming within sniffing distance of the White House!

~

I’m disappointed that they will not have the question, “Are you a citizen” in the census. How unfair is that to the immigrants who are legal, work hard, and pay their taxes and work for what they want. I didn’t have healthcare for 10 years while my husband was still alive who suffered with MS. I took care of him all by myself because I couldn’t afford to pay someone to come in and help me. I worked 40 plus hours and did house cleaning jobs on the side just to make ends meet. AO Cortez, who went to the border, showed what conditions she thought would pull on the heartstrings of we the people. The only problem is she didn’t tell the truth. Shame on her; I realize the illegal’s who are coming here have it rough in their own countries, they should do something to help the situation in their countries and not come here illegally. They are getting free healthcare, not to mention other free things that we the people have worked hard all our lives to accomplish – and this is like a stab in the back. I’m proud to be American, and want to thank President Trump for trying to “Keep America Great.”

~

The winner of the first so-called nationalist socialist democrat debate was clearly President Donald J. Trump. I could only stomach about five minutes of that idiot fest by fake news sycophants.

~

This one kind of blows me away; in 1940 there was an act passed known as the Smith Act, which requires all adult foreigners to be fingerprinted and registered. Now why in hell wouldn’t they be, aren’t we at birth? If they’re going to live here they should be acknowledged and pay exactly the same way we do, not be given all the freebies. What do you think about that? I don’t care if you give me your feedback; I love it!

~

I can’t believe that more people are not upset and outraged at the comment made by our president, the leader of our country, our commander in chief saying he would welcome Russian involvement in his next election as it was described in June 14 USA Today’s section. I consider a statement like that to be a treasonous statement. I cannot understand why that does not upset more people.

~

I agree with the caller, I am glad Sarah Sanders left her position. I will not miss that squall on her face all the time. With that being said, the sad thing is she actually believes all the lies the president says and she messages to the public. Sad, hopefully she stays away from politics.

~

In 2016 Google employees contributed $1.315 million to the Hillary Clinton campaign. Guess what they contributed to the Trump campaign? You got that right, zero; yes zero dollars. Google is a monopoly, which had more nefarious influence on the 2016 election than did Vladimir Putin. The democrat debate buffoons when asked what is the biggest G.O. Political threat to the U.S.A. said, climate control. I submit it is the marxist based democrat party and its puppet operations like Google, Facebook, YouTube and the fake news media which must be defeated and obliterated in the 2020 elections. End of story.

~

To the person that’s all enamored with Nancy Pelosi who thinks she’s so wonderful and so smart, why don’t you Google problems in San Francisco and look at what a cesspool her district is. If she’s so smart why doesn’t she do anything about the problems in her own district? She’s worthless!

~

I think that the United States Government should help out Social Security recipients and raise their minimum monthly rate to $2,000 per month. The government wants you to believe they can’t afford this. Our government keeps conning the elderly because they don’t care about them. Just the other day Donald Trump and Eric Kushner offered Palestine $50 billion if they did what the Trump administration wants them to do with Israel. Palestine said you can’t buy us; so if they wanted to help the elderly they definitely could afford it with no problem.

~

Where do you think Colonel Sanders and those other socialist democrats will get the money for those handouts? Certainly not out of their pockets! The burden would be on the middle class. My suggestion is that we vote Republican. Go Trump 2020!

~

Last Wednesday and Thursday night I saw 20 of the world’s biggest losers on stage at the debates. If Swalwell thinks he can force people to sell their guns to the government he is more stupid than he looks! I’ve got a newsflash for him. Who does he think will enforce his law and come around and pick them up? Answer: No one. When Cuomo passed is middle of the night gun ban there was only one sheriff in the whole state that said they would use enforcement. The police don’t want to get shot, which is what would happen. Back to the debate, Biden looked like a schoolboy being picked on out in the schoolyard. He had no defense for being buddies with segregationalists because there is no defense for that.

~

So we’ve got left wing nut bags out in Portland Oregon who attacked a journalist who was only there trying to do his job. Question to all the democrats, where is Pelosi, where is Schumer, where is Maxine Waters? These are the people that say we should be violent. Don’t tell me it is Trump and the Republicans that are dividing this country! These people, Pelosi, Schumer, Maxine Waters, Kamala Harris all need to stand up and say stop, this is not right. This poor man ended up in the emergency room. They should all be arrested! Vote Trump.

~

Well I’m done. I’m done watching the democratic debates. They’ve convinced me, I’m going to vote republican. They were very loud and clear that they only worry and stand for the illegal immigrants. I heard nothing to help any of the American citizens here in our wonderful country. So they did it, they accomplished their mission, their job. I am voting republican.

~

Trump loves Kim Jong-un, he has torture camps, he starved and killed people and Trump just loves him. Watch out for bobble head Pence also. He is not the religious evangelical people think that he his. He is a snake and not to be trusted and he is not an honest representative of the United States of America.

~

President Trump has reestablished economic talks with China and by bravely crossing the DMZ is reestablishing nuclear arms talks with Korea. Conversely, the bad effects of these Trump triumphs are to take away from the democrat clown show debate debacle.

~

You got to give Kim Jong-un credit for one thing; he knows how to control his borders. I hope President Trump picks up a few pointers when he is over there with his meeting.

~

What was the moment when you knew our country had descended into authoritarianism? I’d mark down watching tanks roll into D.C. for Trump’s July 4 military parade.
