Tioga County Libertarian Party Convention set for June 8

In 2018, for the first time in history, the Libertarian Party of New York (LPNY) received enough votes to qualify under New York law as a recognized political party in the state. The transition to ballot-elected county committees will be complete in 2020.

The Tioga County chapter of the LPNY will be holding its annual convention on June 8, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Candor Free Library, located at 2 Bank St. in Candor. The meeting is open to the public.

The purpose of the meeting is to form an Interim County Organization, to elect officers, and to hear from and endorse Libertarian candidates for local offices including Owego town councilman and Tioga County Sheriff. New York Libertarian Party chair, Mark Glogowski, will give the welcome.

Contact Tioga County Libertarian Party Chair, Melvin Foster, with any questions by email to candorite@gmail.com.
