‘Memory of Forgotten War’ airing on Sunday in Owego

“Memory of Forgotten War” will be shown this Sunday, May 19, at 11:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Union Church, located at the corner of North Avenue and Temple Street in Owego.

For most Americans, the Korean War is nothing more than another event far away in the misty past. The 30-minute documentary film, Memory of Forgotten War, puts a human face on the devastation of that war and the on-going trauma it caused.

Using historical photographs and video interviews, it traces the experience of four men and women who were caught up in wartime events and who found themselves separated from their family members by the still-enforced division after the end of active hostilities. Their sense of loss and pain of separation serve as reminders that the Korean War is still a vivid reality for millions, both in the United States and in Korea.

The Rev. Earl Arnold of the Presbyterian Peace Network for Korea will be available for questions after the film.
