Animal Care Sanctuary (ACS) has been selected as a recipient of a Mutts Across America: 50 States / 50 Shelters grant in the amount of $3,000 for 2019. This is ACS’s second time to be chosen as the best shelter in Pennsylvania.

MuttNation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, co-founded 10 years ago by Grammy winning country singer-songwriter Miranda Lambert and her mother, Bev Lambert. Because MuttNation does not operate its own shelter, they place a very high value on well-run shelters across the county.

In 2014, Bev Lambert launched Mutts Across America: 50 States / 50 Shelters to recognize and honor the exemplary shelters in each of the 50 states. ACS was selected in 2015.

ACS is excited that this year along with the grant funds, all adopted animals will receive a 30 day complimentary PetFirst pet insurance and a 10 percent discount on the insurance if they decide to continue after 30 days.

ACS is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, founded 52 years ago with shelters in both Tioga and Bradford County, Pa. They are regionally based with a national reach.

In 2018 ACS adopted 700 dogs and cats, spayed and neutered over 5,000 dogs and cats in the community clinics, and distributed 20,000 pounds of food in the pet pantries.
