‘I have a Voice’ Gala to benefit GiGi’s Playhouse

On March 22, Traditions at the Glen will host the first annual “i have a Voice” Gala for GiGi’s Playhouse, with proceeds to benefit the only unified network of Down syndrome achievement centers that provide countless free resources for individuals and their families living with this disability.

Since its inception in 2002, GiGi’s Playhouse has expanded to over 40 playhouses across the United States — and one in Mexico — to provide educational, therapeutic and vocational programs along with other resources, from the time of diagnosis through adulthood.

GiGi’s Playhouse has sought to change the way the world views Down syndrome, while sharing a global message to encourage acceptance of all by making a lifetime commitment to each family to remain by their side with all the tools necessary for living empowering and equally valued lives.

The event, slated from 6 to 10 p.m. on March 22, functions as the organization’s primary fundraising effort to continue providing consistent, caring support through programs that walk beside individuals and their families throughout life.

At Gigi’s Playhouse, families are never alone.

Ever seeking to change lives through consistent delivery of free therapeutic-based educational career delivery programs, the event also provides an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of local individuals with the most-common, non-curable chromosomal disability in the United States.

Unfortunately, it is also the least-funded disability nationwide.

This formal, ticketed event will feature a cocktail hour with open bar, dancing, a seated meal and live music.

Additionally, a silent auction will take place that night.

Through your generous support, this never-age-out program will continue to provide opportunities to further education, improve health and wellness, and develop career skills in order to live the best life possible.

Among the entities helping to make this event possible is Square Deal Machining Inc., as company CEO Joe Morgan jumped at the opportunity to be a spotlight sponsor and give a massive boost to the mission.

SDMI has continued to expand throughout the upstate New York region, offering full metal machining services, while adding hundreds of jobs to the local economy.
