On Friday, Tioga County’s District Attorney, Kirk Martin, confirmed that Dennis Rose, age 54 of Candor, N.Y., was found guilty on Feb. 22, 2019 of misdemeanor sex abuse charges that stemmed from an indictment rendered in August 2018.

According to the Tioga County District Attorney, Kirk Martin, of the three original charges, two of which were felonies, he was found guilty of Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor. 

On July 30, 2018, the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office arrested Rose on a grand jury indictment for two counts of Sexual Abuse 1st degree (class D felonies) and one count of Sexual Abuse 2nd degree (class A misdemeanor).

The charges resulted from an investigation performed by the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division and subsequent grand jury indictment in Tioga County Court.

The district attorney stated on Friday that sentencing in this matter is set for May 20 in Tioga County Court.
