The family of Tyler Engelhard would like to thank everyone who said prayers and kept an eye out for him this past month. Thirty-three year old Tyler, who is considered a vulnerable adult, lost contact with his family on Sept. 6, sending them into a frantic search and networking effort to locate their son.

On Oct. 9, the family reported that Tyler called them from Florida, and is taking steps to become a resident there. His sudden move from Owego, according to the family, was unexpected and not easy to explain.

Trish Engelhard, Tyler’s mother, would especially like to thank the staff at the Rehabilitative Supportive Services for all of their care and concern for his well being during the five years he lived in Owego.

“Tyler thrived in Owego and the experiences here will help him in this new chapter of his life in Jacksonville,” said Trish Engelhard, adding, “Thank you to all Owego residents who came to know him as a friend. And hopefully, he will come back to visit sometime.”
