Greg’s Auto Sales celebrates five years

The fastest growing used car dealer in Broome and Tioga Counties is celebrating five years in Owego, N.Y.

Greg’s Auto Sales, located at 770 Rte. 17C (Fifth Avenue) in Owego expanded in 2015 by doubling its lot size, and all to better serve customers who come in from all over the southern tier and beyond.

“I take pride in being a down-home-type dealer,” owner Greg Kies said about his philosophy, adding, “Customers can feel at home here.”

A family-oriented business, Josh Kies joined the business in 2017.

With well over 1,000 cars sold-to-date, Greg’s Auto Sales strives to be a not-your- average used car dealer, and has built a reputation of honesty, integrity and offering hand-picked quality cars.

A small-town auto salesman at heart, Greg explained that he is interested in getting to know his customers and understanding their needs, and also shared that his no-pressure style offers customers a positive overall experience within a relaxed environment.

In addition, Greg said, “The dealership should not be the winner, the customer should be the WINNER!”

Greg commented further that if a customer doesn’t see the car they are looking for, he has access to multiple sources, and, “We will help find the customer the right car for them.”

As a nod to area history, a circular business sign at Greg’s Auto Sales, with a recognizable red star, is reminiscent of Texaco days when a classic filling station was part of the landscape.  

Another chapter of local history, Greg Kies’ grandfather, Selover Kies, owner of Kies Bottling Works that produced popular soda products, was a prominent business owner in the 1920’s through the 1970’s.  

Born and raised in the Owego area, Greg stated he focuses on being community-minded too, and takes pride in his efforts in giving back to the community.
