Black Cat Gallery to celebrate First FridayThe Black Cat Gallery will be celebrating First Friday on Oct. 5 with great music, lots of great art and libations.

“Jam Katz” will perform from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Black Cat Gallery for First Friday in October with the very talented five-member band consisting of Kelly Hammond, Robert Seigers, Jim Overhiser, Mike Mangini and Frank Bocek. The group will entertain with their talented vocals, acoustic guitar, mandolin, harmonica and banjo.

Enjoy a festive evening out, listen to the music, take in some beautiful art.

The Black Cat Gallery’s artist for October is Billy Brandenberg, from the Wilkes Barre area, with his pen and ink collage mixed with a bit of photography and Flora and Fauna. Detailed and clever, Billy’s whimsical art is sure to make you smile.

Lisa McQueeney is a photographer and lover of Monarch butterflies. Come to the new Gateway on Front Street and see her exhibit, “Raising Monarchs”. Lisa will take you through the life cycle of the Monarch butterfly and share the life lessons gained from her experience. From 8 to 9 p.m., Lisa will be at the Black Cat sharing her Monarch stories, with perhaps a butterfly or two.
