With intermittent downpours throughout the day, things were picking up at the Tioga County Fair as the rides opened in the early afternoon, and the first of three demolition derbies brought in a packed grandstand.
Jacob Elsbree was on hand to take some video from the derby (https://www.facebook.com/TiogaCountyFair/videos/1892368117476245/) in order to take the action out to our readership.
With the new rides, and a lower gate fee of $10, which includes the rides, grandstands, and all the shows, the fair is seeing a good turnout – in spite of the weather.
The next couple of days are expected to be met with beautiful weather and sunny skies, and another two rounds of demolition derby action.
This year’s derby featured qualifying heats on Wednesday, with finals scheduled for Friday.
New this year is a Team Demolition Derby scheduled for Thursday. All three derby nights start at 7 p.m.
This year there is no separate admission to the grandstands to watch the derby. A $10 all-inclusive price includes gate admission and entry into the grandstands, and all of the rides, provided by Gillette Shows.
And don’t forget! Bug Tussle will be at the Show Stage on Thursday afternoon for a free show!
