Angel Face Pageants to hold annual Strawberry Festival Pageant on Friday

Angel Face Pageants will be holding their 8th annual Strawberry Festival Pageant on Friday, June 15. The pageant will be held the night before the festival and the winners will be allowed to walk in the Strawberry Festival Parade on Saturday, at 10 a.m. 

The pageant will award a Crown, Sash, and Trophy to each age group winner and Three High Point winners. The cost to enter is $25. 

This year’s pageant will be held inside of the First Baptist Church, located at 228 Main St. in Owego, with registration beginning at 3 p.m. Fill out an entry form online at www.angelfacepageants.com to assure your spot in the pageant. The pageant will begin at 5 p.m.

Angel Face Pageant age groups are 0-11 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3-4 years, 5-6 years, 7-8 years, 9-12 years, 13-15 years, and 16 and up for girls; for boys, the age groups are 0-2 years, 3-5 years, and six and up.

Areas of competition include the following.

Beauty: This is a mandatory formal event for every contestant. Each contestant will do a simple walk on stage. Contestants nine and up have the option to do an introduction about themselves on stage. Introductions should include name, age, hometown, hobbies, or anything interesting they would like the judges to know. They may wear any style dress. This is not a Glitz pageant, however, age appropriate makeup is allowed. There will be one winner in each age division.

Side Awards, which are optional to enter, include prettiest hair, eyes, smile, dress, and personality. These five awards will be given in every age division. Extra awards may be given at the discretion of the director.

Each of the above age Division Queens will receive a Crown, Sash and Trophy. 

There will be an ‘Ultimate Grand’ Supreme Strawberry Queen awarded to the highest scoring contestant in the entire Pageant. If your are crowned Grand Supreme, you will be pulled from your age group queen and that title will go to the next highest scoring person in your age group. There will also be a Grand Supreme and Mini Supreme who will bump out of the age division; these are the next highest scoring contestants in the entire pageant.
