May and June computer classes for adults

The Tioga Adult Learning Lab (T.A.L.L.), a computer instruction and employment readiness program of Literacy Volunteers of Broome-Tioga Counties, Inc., is still accepting registrations for computer enrichment classes during May and June. All instruction is of no cost to the public. 

“Using E-mail Effectively” is offered on Thursday, May 17, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. or on Thursday, June 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. (choose either session).

“Job Applications Online” will be offered on Thursday, May 24. In this workshop, students can practice job searches, navigate websites and learn tips about applying for jobs online. 

Job seekers can also enroll in Resume Success, focused on updating resumes and writing cover letters. This class will meet on Monday, May 14 or Tuesday, June 6. Enrollment is limited to six students in this class.

Other classes also offered in May and June include “Basics of Microsoft PowerPoint” on May 29 and 30 (attend both evenings), “Social Networking – Using Facebook” on Thursday, May 31, and “Basics of Microsoft Publisher” on Wednesday, June 6. 

Classes meet from 6 to 8 p.m. in Room 105 at the Owego Free Academy, located on Sheldon Guile Boulevard in Owego. Students must be pre- registered to attend as seating is limited, and can do so by contacting the Literacy Office at (607) 778-6406.
