Owego will light up during annual ‘Lights on the River’ event

On Dec. 1, downtown Owego will light up and be in a full festive celebration as they present the annual “Lights on the River” event, taking place throughout downtown Owego. The event runs from 4 to 9 p.m., with the fireworks capping off the evening at 8 p.m.

On Friday, visitors are invited to enjoy an evening filled with family-friendly activities, including a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, strolling musicians, hundreds of decorated trees, carolers, live reindeer, ice carvers, and a spectacular riverside fireworks show at 8 p.m.

Enjoy the charm of the historic streets of Owego as you stroll through downtown. Shop at one of Owego’s unique stores featuring hand-crafted art, crafts and antiques, and be sure to enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants Owego has to offer.
