Anndrea Starzak, senatorial candidate for the New York State 52nd District, spent time recently in Tioga County visiting small businesses and listening to the business owner concerns.

According to Anndrea, “These business are the backbones our community, the backbone of our economy and what I’ve been hearing from these businesses is that times are hard, the situation is not improving as much as they hoped. They are proud of the work that they are doing.  Many are hanging on by a thread and need help to do better than simply stay afloat.”

Starzak toured small businesses in Owego on Friday, Sept. 19. According to Sandy Knapp Dunbar, owner of The ‘Erb Lady, 35 Lake St., Owego, “The one thing you can do for small business is to provide stimulus to make the economy better, that will help small businesses – people will have more money to spend.”

Starzak pledges to work for fair economic reforms that benefit small businesses.  She stresses need to end the special tax breaks and backroom deals to large companies and ensure that all of our businesses have a level playing field in which to compete.  According to Starzak,

“When I go to Albany, I commit to work to build an economy that works for us all.”
